- OUR STORY
Why we started, and who helped us get here.
In response to a clear gap in teacher education across the region, the Burnpur Hirapur Educational Society set out to establish a self-financed B.Ed. college at Burnpur, PS Hirapur, in the district of Burdwan. It was registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, and the undertaking was carried forward with the help of education-minded residents of the area who believed the gap was worth closing.
That support turned into momentum. The general public welcomed the idea and contributed what they could, and the Society placed a formal proposal before the State Government of West Bengal and the University of Burdwan. Both recognised its merit — clearing the way for what is documented step by step on the right.
- HOW WE CAME TO BE
A chain of approvals
Four milestones, each formally documented, that carried the Society from registered intent to a fully affiliated institution.

Society Registered
The Society is formally constituted under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act.

No Objection Certificate
The State Government of West Bengal reviews the proposal and issues its NOC for a B.Ed. college at Burnpur.

University Affiliation Granted
The University of Burdwan accords affiliation, and the college admits its first students.

Appointed Day
Under powers conferred by Section 6(1) and subject to Section 64 of the governing Act, the Governor of West Bengal names 1 August 2021 the "Appointed Day." From this date, B.Ed. colleges in Paschim Burdwan — including ours — move from the University of Burdwan's affiliation to that of the new university.
